I think everyone has an important landscape that remains in their heart.
I was fascinated by the scenery seen from the windows of temples in Kyoto (Genkoan's round "Enlightenment Window"). You can't help but feel something mysterious about the snowy landscape in winter, the fresh greenery in summer, and the colorful leaves in autumn.
Then, I met a traditional lacquer craftsman from Kyoto and was astonished to see his work. A lacquered accessory that reminds me of my precious scenery.
“I want people to feel the goodness of lacquer in a more familiar way.”
``I want to convey the beauty of lacquer to as many people as possible...'' He started this shop with the hope of letting people all over the world know about the beauty of Kyoto through his works that are filled with his thoughts.
